Flemming Oppenhagen Behrend

Flemming Oppenhagen Behrend is a Danish-American writer and Archetypal Pattern Analyst with a profound interest in history, psychology, and storytelling. Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, Flemming’s life journey has taken him across borders, first to Germany and later to the United States, where he has lived since 1980.

Flemming graduated as an Archetypal Pattern Analyst from the Assisi Institute in 2016. His work focuses on Jungian dream analysis and the study of archetypal patterns, reflecting his deep fascination with the complexities of the human psyche and the timeless narratives that connect us all.

As a writer, Flemming brings his unique perspective and rich heritage to his storytelling. His first book, 78RPM, the Record of a Family (2005), chronicles his family’s experiences during the turbulent times of two world wars. In his memoir, Sojourner in a Foreign Land (2019), he reflects on his life growing up in Copenhagen and his experiences as an immigrant, navigating the cultural and personal transitions that have shaped his identity. His latest work, Nøglen fra Cordoba (The Key from Cordoba), is inspired by historical research and his commitment to preserving the untold stories of the past.

Now based in Olympia, Washington, Flemming continues to explore themes of history, psychology, and resilience in his work, sharing stories that resonate across generations and cultures.

When not writing, Flemming engages with his community, sharing insights on dream analysis and the power of narrative.
